jet lag woes

i usually haven't had too hard of a time adjusting time zones when i travel internationally, but i have major jet lag on this trip. i think i screwed myself up when i stayed up so late the first night trying to get my work done. now i'm sleepy by 7pm, cannot keep my eyes opened past 10pm, and wake up at 4am.

joy & andrea are right - the breakfast buffet at my hotel - DELICIOUS. and we get to eat it every morning. i've been diligent about going to the gym every day, only because: 1) i wake up at 4am anyways, and 2) i've been eating so much, it makes me feel less guilty. on sunday joe took us around and we literally ate non-stop (staring with din tai fung for breakfast, and ay-chung noodle for a "snack"). i felt like i was going to explode.

yesterday we went to both our taipei offices to run training sessions - we went to neihu in the morning, then literally high-tailed it out of there to get to our main taipei office on time. we got there during lunch, so everyone was out, so we wandered around to find some quick food. all the restaurants there are very local, no one speaks english, there are no pictures on the menu, and everything is in chinese characters. since i'm in taiwan with an indian coworker, my boss who's half japanese-half european, and someone from our korea office, we pretty much had a very high chance of accidentally ordering something that still moved on your plate. but somehow i managed to use my one-year-old level chinese (which basically meant lots of pointing and nodding) to get us some food. and nothing moved on our plate. pat myself on the back. :)

and andrew - i know bob already provided a link in the comments, but i just have to post it here.

THE Play. the greatest college football play & comeback ever.

"only a miracle can save the bears"... yes and a miracle is what happened.
