spirit west coast

many thanks to amy, who totally got us the hookups to spirit west coast. though jean, jenie, & i went to volunteer, it turns out they didn't need our service. so instead, we got free entrance, free parking pass to park in the lot right next to the stage, free VIP staff seating... even free food! amy, you rock!

you know you're getting old when you ask for earplugs at a concert. but in our defense, we were literally right next to the humungous speakers. like we were seriously the closest people to the speakers. and it was LOUD. and i took video, but the sound didn't turn out well becuase it was actually too loud. but we got to see the end of buildling 429, matt redman, and david crowder in concert, as well as george huff (i think one of the finalists for a season of american idol) & a q&a session with barlow girls. a little bummed we missed casting crowns, who were on friday night. we left before newsboys came on since i didn't want to drive so far back so late.

while at spirit west coast, we met a new friend. his name is:

jean, jenie, me, and amy found bob the tomato:

matt redman

david crowder (who's fun to watch in concert - this is the second time i've seen him this year)

look at the drastic difference between the two. the top belongs to our newfound friend georgia, the bottom (if you can even see it, it kind of blends in with the sand ;)) belongs to jean.

video of david crowder. again, audio isn't that great in the video when it's really loud, because it's too loud for my camera to handle.

uploaded more videos at youtube, the rest of my spirit west coast pictures are here.

i'm getting dangerously close to our vacation accrual max of 35 days. i NEED to take days off! i've already taken 5 weeks off within the last year and a half, although more than 2 weeks of that have been for all my surgeries. time for some last minute vacations!

That'll be $459, thank you. Parking pass alone is $100. :)

I was so happy you all could come! I think that's the first time I've ever requested/worn earplugs at SWC, but I agree it was VERY loud. Even far away (during B429's set).

P.S. I wish I had your PTO problem.

youre so lucky you got to go to SWC!!! i brought the youth group there one year, we camped out and everything, so much fun!!!!

and dude, about the earplugs! the last time i went to a concert, it was a michael mcdonald concert (ok that right there says something about me being old! haha) and it was sooooo loud! even tho we were no where close to the front! i had to stick tissue in my ears!!! plus i was pregnant, and fell asleep halfway thru the concert!!!!!!! maurice eventually woke me up and took me home, and the concert wasn't even over!!!!! man... how i have aged!!!!!! :P
