ten simple pleasures

i've been inhaling rubber cement all night for a missions committee project maria asked me to do. if you think you're a procrastinator... maria asked me to do this all the way back in march. when does she need it by? this sunday. how many times did she remind me/ask me about its status? like at least once a month. when did i start working on it? yesterday. but it's almost done!

10 simple pleasures i love (in no particular order):

10. sunday night, when we get a monday off from work. it's like another friday night!
9. reading in bed. unless i'm totally wiped out, i always read in bed before i go to sleep.
8. curling up on a couch & watching a movie with a hot drink when it's raining (hard) outside.
7. playing worship songs on the piano and/or guitar. i could do it for hours (at least on piano - i don't play guitar often enough now, so my fingers start to hurt afer playing on the guitar for a little bit.) i feel like i'm in a totally different world, completely carefree, when i sit down and start playing.
6. finding money in my pocket. it feels like free money, even if it's really not. :)
5. reconnecting & talking for hours with old friends.
4. taking a walk to clear my mind or to pray on a perfect northern california day.
3. hosting people to watch lost & 24 at my house every week. it's so much more fun to watch with people. :)
2. playing with my friends' babies.
1. a saturday with no plans/events/church activities/weddings/etc. they are so rare & few in between, that all i can think of the entire day is how i have no plans and free to do whatever i want.

wow, that list was a lot easier to come up with than i imagined. God blesses us with lots of simple pleasures :)
