agony

is it okay to take vicodin and ibuprofen/anti-inflammatory medication at the same time? it should be, right? or maybe i'll just up the dosage of ibuprofen to 4-6 tablets.

i took a vicodin for the first time in 15 months - i didn't take any after my surgery this year, and i only took one after my surgery last year. but ever since saturday afternoon, my knee has been burning with pain that has caused me to limp and unable to pretty much do anything. it burns anytime i move it, whether straightening or bending, sitting or standing... i've never had pain like this before. i'm not sure what happened - i didn't do anything out of the ordinary, and up to saturday morning it was fine (well - fine, relatively speaking). i've iced it and have been taking advil. i hope it goes away, otherwise i may have to make another visit to my doctor this week, which i was hoping to avoid. but i'm in agony right now at work...

i may not have to go to UK after all, which is a relief. i wasn't really looking forward to flying around the world. it's still not confirmed - it basically depends on my coworker. she has a family, and will be going to taiwan with me, and then going to HK while i go to japan. she seems to really want to go to UK, so i told her it was fine with me if she went (we only need one person to go.) but since she has a kid, it's a lot harder for her to be away for longer periods of time, whereas i'm much more flexible with my schedule. so if she can work it out with her husband to go, she'll go - but if she can't, i'll have to go.

a pretty ironic thing is that i have no relatives in taipei, so i have no one to visit in taiwan (besides jean's family). i have an aunt & uncle in kaohsiung, which is too far away for me to go see. everyone else on my mom's side of the family are in california & texas. funnily enough, i have lots of relatives in tokyo, so i hope to visit & spend time with them since i haven't seen most in over 20 years. if i don't have to go to the UK, then i'll probably take a day or two off to spend more time in japan & see relatives & explore the city. too bad no one will be in taiwan or japan in june to explore with me!
